High speed malfunctions (total malfunction or less than 5 cells inflated) are characterised by high rate of descent. Speed could be close to freefall speed. The high speed malfunctions don’t give you much time to think. You have just a couple of seconds to realise what is going on and make a decision. High speed malfunctions: Lost deployment handle, Hard pull, Pilot chute hesitation, Pilot chute in tow, Horseshoe, Bag lock, Streamer.
